Janio is looking a Head of Operations: MALAYSIA to join our rapidly expanding global team. We are looking for a seasoned and numbers-driven leader to help us build and scale across our Operations and Partner Performance functions. In this role, you will be required to design and implement core go-to-market initiatives that support our growth in Malaysia.   


As a senior leader in the company, you will also need to be able to influence the company’s strategy and vision at both a country and regional level. You are expected to plan clear operational milestones and provide structure and processes that drives efficiency and growth. Working closely with the country’s general manager, this role also expects you to assume country-level P&L responsibilities.


As part of your responsibilities, you will be the go-to personnel overseeing Malaysia’s Operational strategy, deep dive into complex business challenges and spearhead all Operations initiatives. This position is exposed to multiple aspects of business setup in a fast-paced startup environment and is well suited for candidates with an entrepreneurial and go-getter’s mindset.


You must be a hands’ on, roll up your sleeves type of leader who is able to operate well with little to no guidance, and should enjoy a fast-paced, high impact entrepreneurial environment. This position requires the individual to navigate many unchartered grounds and build processes and teams from ground up. As the Head of Operations: MALAYSIA, this role plays a leading and strategic role in charting the course of Janio’s business vision and to deliver new solutions to meet the increasing business requirements from Malaysia. You will be the leading driver to push Janio’s business vision, strategy, and implementation of our operational strategy in the Malaysian market.

The successful candidate will:


  • Play a leading role in planning and executing Janio Malaysia’s operational milestones, identifying and working with partners to improve local performance
  • Enforce strong collaboration across multiple functions (both locally and regionally) to effectively translate the company’s vision into actionable operational strategies
  • Take ownership of Janio’s operational health and represent our clients to all internal stakeholders
  • Take charge in performance management of the freight forwarding and customs partners Janio uses in Malaysia, leveraging performance metrics, targets, dashboards, and reporting to drive consistency of operations
  • Actively develop and facilitate effective internal and external partnerships and communications to troubleshoot exceptions and escalations on shipments
  • Drive continuous performance improvement within partners through process improvement and communication
  • Assume the role of subject matter expert relating to Malaysia’s supply chain capabilities
  • Assume P&L responsibilities for key markets under your charge



  • Min. 10 years of working experience in an operational role and proven leadership track record in both B2C and B2B logistics capacity. Related experience in ecommerce logistics, cross-border ecommerce is a plus.
  • Have a strong understanding of logistics across the B2C, B2B and Fulfilment space.
  • Proven leadership and track-record in building and managing large teams, communicating expectations and execution under strict time pressure
  • Strong business intuition: Experience breaking down complex business problems into key levers digestible next steps.
  • Strong data sensitivity and ability to create data-driven insights that inform decisions and process improvements
  • Ability to synthesize product and business vision into an effective development roadmap.
  • Strong project management skills, with success owning complicated cross-functional programs and projects to timelines across common goals
  • Ability to craft compelling presentation and able to relay information in a seamless manner.
  • Comfortable communicating in both English and Bahasa Melayu with strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills. Ability to communicate in a third language is highly favored.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to navigate and thrive in fast-changing work environments
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and consistently demonstrating a high proclivity for excellence
  • Experience influence stakeholders is a plus.
